Oh boy, I could see this becoming a trend. Hey, Liam Neeson and Alexander Skarsgård are in it. Maybe board game film adaptations will now take over for the waning interest in superhero films. Place your bets on the next board game to be made. I predict Tim Burton makes Candy Land.

OK, I searched “Candy Land movie” and discovered that that’s actually happening, though no word on who’s directing it. I have my doubts on Burton. Apparently the screenwriters envision it as “a ‘Lord of the Rings,’ but set in a world of candy.” As Drew Grant of Salon said, “One Ring Pop to rule them all.”

And Ridley Scott is directing a movie about Monopoly.

Chutes and Ladders, Risk, and Jenga cannot be far behind.
