About Me
Hi, my name is Alex LeClair. I’m a public librarian in Wisconsin, though I’ve also worked in academic libraries before.
A little over a decade ago, I took my first job in a public library, and I thought I’d stay there while I figured out what I wanted to do with my life. One day I decided that working in a library was what I wanted to do. I’ve worked lots of different jobs: teacher, sandwich-maker, waiter, sandwich-maker, landscaper, sandwich-maker, just lots of different things.
I spend most of my current professional life either working at the reference desk or developing the collection, though I also do some computer instruction. I’m a big fan of podcasts, the Green Bay Packers, and breakfast. Jonathan Franzen is my favorite author and I think The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford is tragically underseen, and the album Public Strain by Women will rise from the ashes in future years, like a phoenix. What else…
I’m also in a band and am writing my first novel. So every once in a while I’ll mention those things.
Thanks for reading.
I just discovered your blog while searching for cool pictures of stacked books. I think I’ll hang around for a while after reading some of your posts. I understand how you are a GB fan, why wouldn’t you be? But look out for those Niners, they are on the rise (Like a Phoenix). Thanks for your book/music reviews and great links.
